Essam Doukhou was born in Salé. At the age of 21, he graduated from the Higher School of Graphic Design and Editing in Rabat. Then, continued his studies at the Poly-disciplinary University of Ouarzazate obtaining a professional degree in film and audiovisual management. In 2014, his first short film written, directed and edited "Dalto" won the Grand-Prix of the Cinecole: International Film Festival of Marrakech. In 2016, wrote and directed his second short film "Anti-dreaming pills" numerous international selections/Hypatia Golden Award. In 2018, directed his first feature documentary "The poetry and music of the desert". Essam now resides in Rabat and is about to finish writing his first feature film, "Another Night".
