Marc-Antoine

Rioux

Marc-Antoine Rioux began his career as a screenwriter in 2009 after college and university studies in arts and letters, communications and screenwriting. Mauvaise, his first short film, was screened as part of the Fantasia film festival. He then turned to writing feature films and co-wrote PRANK, an irreverent comedy selected by La semaine de la critique de Venise in 2016 and winner of the Gilles-Carle prize at the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma in 2017. His second feature, Les Barbares de la Malbaie released in 2019 and the third, Farador is scheduled for 2023. It is then towards comedy (Nicolet), horror film (Visite Libre), and biographical action film (Léo Major), all in development, that he will turn, in team or solo. While Marc-Antoine devotes himself to his projects with a consuming passion, it is of course nothing compared to his lifelong obsession with the Montreal Canadiens, or the work of David Mamet.
